Need help with memory expansion... ( 1 Views )

1. I want to expand my memory to 2Gbs. I have one 1Gb (double sided) in slot two of my mobo. My heatsink overlaps slot one and slot three is empty (3 slot board). The mobo manufacturer recommends dual sided memory in combination of slots one and two only, if using only two sticks of double sided memory. If i use two sticks of 1Gb double sided memory in slots two and three only, the system will only run at DDR 333 speed and not the DDR 400 speed i want (and need). Is running two 1Gb double sided memory modules in slots one and two worth mangling my heatsink fins?

2. you should be able to run 2 double sided sticks in slots 2 and 3 and still run at ddr400.. i know i have in the k8n neo, with a clawhammer that has to have the world's worst memory controller ;)

3. You will only see maybe a .3 fps loss in running att 333mhz. A64s arent picky on bandwith.
