Asus A8N-E Memory ( 2 Views )

Couldn't decide which forum to post this under. Anyways, which overclocking ram do you guys use for this mobo? I hear these are badass overall but I'm reading some issues with the A8N-E. Thanks a bunch ;)

ive had very good results with corsair on asus boards.rite now im running corsair xms 3200c2 rev 5.1 at 262 htt on 2.65v and ram settings of 2.5 3 3 8 1T.
it runs 1 to 1 with the cpu.works well for me on the a8n-e rev 2 with a 3200/939
ive always had great results with asus and corsair.dont know about g skill except on dfi which o/clocks well with g skill.

I had one of those boards until I switched to an A8N-SLI to run 2 7900GT's....I used 2x 1GB OCZ Platinum DDR400 and they worked fine for mild overclocks.

I reccomend Patriot for Asus boards. Never hasn't worked flawlessly for me.

Which slots are you running your ram in?

Get a 1/2 decent kit of DDR400 and set the divider to 333Mhz, your ram will run at 400Mhz and with tight latencies and you'll be able to OC your PC as high as your processor can handle. My current setup is with my 3700+ running @ 2.8Ghz and my FSB is 250Mhz but my RAM is 200Mhz @ 2-2-2-5.

Thats my problem......with my dfi board i can run 1:1 with the cpu 260x10= 2.6ghz (CPU) = 260mhz ram. My memory bandwidth is 6,200 on the DFI.

The highest i've been able to get with the Asus is setting the ram at 333mhz which i can only get my CPU to 2.5ghz so the Ram ends up being 208mhz and i can get better latency (3-3-3-6) but my memory bandwidth is only 5,100. Note: even autodetecting is picking up the ram at 2T and that is at 200mhz WTF?

Is it possible to run 1:1 at 1T with this board? That way i'm running what my Ram is rated for.

I run corsair xms pc3200c2 rev 5.1 and my ram is running 1 to 1 with the cpu at 250htt.my voltage is set to 2.65v and my settings are 2.5, 3, 3 ,3 ,8 at 1T.the ram runs stable at 1T up to 258htt.my sandra mem bandwith is 6735/6641.
This is with everything running at 250 htt.my 3200 venice runs 2500mhz with voltage at 1.37 and its set at 10x250.the ram runs 1 to 1 with the cpu.its prime stable for 24hrs and runs all benches without ever crashing.this is one of the most stable motherboards ive owned.i build them for a living and this one is a winner.id like to build a dfi system to fool around with some high o/clocks but it would be hard to beat this board at these speeds.i run a business off this computer so i need something fast and stable.the dfi expert is dropping in price and i think id like to try that board but everyone tells me to get the ultra d.i like the layout of the expert board and im waiting to see dfi's am2 boards before i decide.

Hmm, maybe its compadibility with G.skillz or somthing. Because even auto detect sets the memory at 2T.........

I think i may get CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 500 (PC 4000) and see how it works in the board since i'm running 1to1 with my CPU @ 250Htt.

I have had bad luck with 4 sticks on my board. Overclock is SERIOUSLY impeded this way. I like the board but do not love it. but hey my wife gave it to me for christmas so I did not pick. Plus I hate the asus website. I would go with corsair tho.

No i would have to run 2t if i had 4 dimms populated. I'm only going to use the Corsair.
