Background Tasks Rant

I'm going through my Task Manger right now looking at all the apps Logitech has running on my machine and here is a list:
LGDCore.exe 12mb (G15 Keyboard LCD)
LCDMon.exe 5mb (G15 Keyboard LCD)
LWEMon.exe 6mb (GamePad/Joy Stick app)
LCDPOP3.exe 4mb (G15 Keyboard LCD mail notifier)
LCDClock.exe 6mb (G15 Keyboard LCD clock)
LCDMedia.exe 5mb (G15 Keyboard LCD media monitor and keyfunctions)
SetPoint.exe 8mb (MX518, Logitech mouse/keyboard drivers)
KHALMNPR.exe 5mb (MX518, advanced prefernces)

for a grand total of about 51mb (on the low end, more like 57mb) of memory, not to mention about 10mb of third party LCD apps for BF2 and TeamSpeak (10mb). For something thats suppose to improve your gaming experince, why do I have the hunting suspition I'm hurting my preformnce? This ontop of my X-Fi sound card apps and drivers (36mb), xfire (13mb), gmail notifier (8mb), itunes helper (5mb), msnmsger (25mb, damn) and all this other stuff (useless stuff like soundman.exe at 4mb). I'm sorry if I grew up in the days of the 386 with windows 3.1, 4mb ram and a 20MB HD where Wolfenstein 3D ran slugish on and where I had to write a special autoexec.bat just to run frig'n Doom. Every bit of RAM is special, I may have 2GB of RAM, but strangly enough it feels like they coming out with stuff to run in the background just as fast as I upgrade my RAM. BF2 won't runsmoothly unless I have more then 1GB already unless I shutdown just about everything in the background. Sorry for the rant, but while messing with trying to shut down one unnesssasary X-Fi exe file (CTXFISPI.exe only needs to frig'n run when you open the damn panel) I found it fruitless just looking over at the list of logitech apps that I need to keep running to keep all those features I like and have come to use to.
