How to tell dead pixel vs dust particle? ( 4 Views )

1. Is there a way to tell a difference between a dead pixel and a dust particle behind the screen?
   This is getting annoying. I didn't have any dead pixels on the screen but I just noticed it now after I cleaned the monitor.

   umm, it should look like a pixel, and probably have a color...maybe not.
   
   try a dead pixel tester to see if it is infact colored.
   
   if it has pigment, it is a dead pixel for sure.

   yeah LCD is werid, I had 1 dead pixel on my 15'' for 6 months, then magically dissappeared :confused: :confused: :confused: Anybody knowledgeable enough to help explain?

8. It's not unusual for dead pixels to randomly appear/disappear. Happens on my cheapo laptop all the time.
