Help! Matlab map plotting ( 2 Views )

no kitty!
  1. I need to plot some satellite data in matlab. The data is in a text file with the syntax:

    <latitude> <longitude> <data value 1> <data value 2> ... <data value n>

    ie

    46,76149 -87.20458 -99 -99 ... -99

so a lat, lon, and several data values per line.

I have access to the map toolbox, but don't have any experience using it. Every plotting functions seems to want specialized coordinate vectors, which I do not know how to create, or a lat and lon mesh for surface plots. When I try and build a mesh the image comes out very skewed. Also, I am not sure at this time what grid type the data is in.

First quesion, is there a function that takes in simple (double, not specialized vector somethings) arrays of longitude, latitude, and data values and builds a map?

    Thanks
