BF2, no mouse while connected to server ( 1 Views )

1. Last night I connected to a server and before I spawned, I dropped to my desktop to close another program. When I popped back into BF2 I couldnt select a spawn or do anything. I couldnt even esc back to the server browser. I tried restarting and rebooting and the bug seems to have stuck. Sort of bee-zare to me. Everything works fine until I load a map and try to select a spawn. The pointer is there, just cant move around and select anything.
   
   The only thing I have not tried it re-upping my punkbuster files. Weird, any one else have or hear of this problem?
   
   I dont want to have to reinstall, I have no idea where my manual is.

2. Since alt-tabbing you can't use the mouse anymore or is it just when you alt-tab?

3. I dumped out of BF2 using ctr-alt-del. Mouse works fine on the desk top. While connected to a BF2 server the mouse doesnt work, or anything for that matter. I cant even esc back to the server browser. Its not really a lock up because I can still see the game going on from my unspawned state.
   
   The weirdest part is that it seems to do this even after restarting BF2.

4. Hmm... So your keyboard/mouse works fine up until you actually see a spawn screen? Or does it stop working at some point before that?
   
   Are both your keyboard/mouse USB or PS/2?

   Mouse is a wireless MS USB, KB is PS/2.
   
   Yeah it works fine right up until that first spawn screen pops up after loading a map. If I dump to windows, mouse and KB work fine.

6. This is a stretch but perhaps you could re-create your BF2 profile. I know it's a pain to re-bind all your keys but it may be worth a try.

   This is exactly what you need to do. This same issue happened to me a while back. You key bindings have become corrupted. Just go into your settings after you load BF2 and check your controls - I am willing to bet they are all blank. Just Reset Defaults and change as needed.

   I know how ya feel, bud. I'm thinking of starting a 10 step BF2 program to help cope with the addiction.
   
   Oh, it's not to break free of the addiction, just a program on how to fit it into your real life. hehe
