Resolution over Component Out Changes Upon Reboot ( 1 Views )
-
Many apologies if this has been asked but my brief search did not yeild the answer to my question.
I have been having a problem with my HTPC "losing" it's custom HDTV resolution when it reboots. The videocard is a Visiontek x800 128mb PCIExpress using the component output and the resolution is set to 1152x684 (IIRC). I am running the most current catalysts for XP.
System:
MSI K8NEO4-F
Athlon 64 3200+
1GB Corsair ValueSelect
MSI Theater 550PRO
Pioneer DVR-110
Maxtor 300GB IDE
SuperFlower TT-550 14cm
Windows XP Pro
CyberLink PowerCinema 3
Toshiba 42H82
Any help would be appreciated.

I had that problem with my radeon 9600 but never resolved it as it was a temporary card for that PC. When I moved the 9600 to it's permanent (for now) resting spot I ran the little display wizard and haven't had that problem since.

Yeah i ran the display wizard as well which is what gave me the option for the 1152x684 as being the correct one for my set at 720p. Unfortunately even after that it still "loses" the settigns. I am fairly sure it is my mistake somehow...just not sure where

Do you have dual display? I have this problem since my HTPC case has a LCD (via VGA), and the HDTV is hooked up via DVI -> HDMI. I have to switch the main monitor to HDTV and the LCD as the clone to resolve this. If you are not running a clone monitor output, then disregard this post!

Actually I did have a LCD hooked up when I set it up originally. That may be the ticket. I'll check this weekend. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ya, secondary monitors always seem to get short shrift with video options. Can be a pain to diagnose unless somebody gives you a heads up beforehand ;)
