6800GS NV42 on AGP ( 2 Views )

1. Today I picked up an Xpertvision 6800GS with 512MB RAM in AGP format.
   
   I thought it would be a standard 6800GS with a NV40 GPU so imagine my surprise when I discovered it looking like this: http://tech.sina.com.cn/h/2006-03-28/0045879428.shtml
   
   So it looks like the NV42 has made its way to AGP.
   
   It's now installed and I can confirm default clock speeds of 425/1000.
   
   On a P4 3.0ghz, 3DMark05 reports a score of 5074.
   
   Overclocked to 500/1150, 3dMark05 reports a score of 5835.
   
   The morale of the story is if you were planning to unlock the extra pipes on an AGP NV40 6800GS, avoid this particular model.
