AMD K6 Duallie motherboard? ( 2 Views )

1. opk so i have a couple of amd K6 500Mhz processors siting around that i want to utilize and i was wondering whether ther id any dual processor motherboards for the socket

4. AMD K6's aren't SMP capable. Though there were a couple boards from Tyan and maybe one or two other companies that were dual socket 7, and they could have physically held two K6's and they were compatible with K6's, but since K6's had no SMP support it didn't work. Those boards only worked with Pentium and Pentium MMX CPU's in SMP.
   
   I know this from expereince because a friend of mine called me when he couldn't make it work. So I did some research and as it turned out, it wasn't supported.

5. Um yes and No
    
   There was a motherboard produced that could SMP K6 processors @ 300mhz Infact the same company made a quad motherboard. However unless you have one of these beasties and the required drivers. Your completely out of luck.
   
   Lemmie put it this way... you have as much of a chance finding and purchasing a 128Meg Obsidian Voodoo octal video card PCI, as finding that motherboard.
