replacing ram in a Abit IS7 ( 3 Views )

1. I have 512 meg of pc 3500 DDR433 ram in my Abit IS7 with a P 2.4. I would like to change my ram I have 1 gig of Geil pc 3200 ddr 400 ( both in dual channel ). When i replace the memory I just removed the old and put in the new. This made my cpu run at 1.2, not sure what i am doing wrong. Someone said clear the cmos and replace ram then boot up is this correct. When I put the old ram back in everything was fine.

3. The new ram causes the cpu to run at half speed, haven't been able to figure out what the problem is.
