New memory...lower overclocks... ( 2 Views )
-
So I got another 2 sticks of PC4000 XMS Pro 512MB today, and now i'm down for max overclock from 3.5GHz to 3.3GHz...probably from the instability caused by running 4 sticks of memory vs. two.
Just wanted to get that out, was bugging me all night. What are your experiences with overclocking and filling all ram slots?

yeah i had the same thing happen to me i had a old kingston 512 and a generic 512 and i took those out and replaced it with a gigaram gig stick and now my clocks are down from 2.7 to 2.45 but its all good still good overclock for a amd 3000 1.8 and idels at 15C but i want a new processor cuz im pretty hard on it

I lost some RAM bandwidth going from 1GB to 3GB b/c I needed to drop to 2T instead of 1T. I'm contemplating if I really need 3GB or if I can just deal with 2GB and get my 1T back.
