special usb cable ( 2 Views )

1. I have a 4 port usb hub + card reader combo device and it's quite unstable. It came with a special cable it seems. One end is miniusb that plugs to the device. The other it goes to regular usb and then has another part that comes out and is another usb head. Both are male, so it's not like it's allowing another device to be plugged in. Does this mean I should plug both into separate usb ports on my pc? It works on just one, but not well at all, although I think the device is just shitty to begin with.

2. You may want to check whether your PC's Enhanced USB 2 Controller is set up right. Try clicking "update driver" under device manager if you have SP2 installed.

   It is probably for extra power without an ac adapter.

4. Well one plug could be for the Card reader and the second plug for the USB hub??? what does the manual say about how to use that cable?

5. no manual. could be for extra power without using ac adapter that would make sense. one wire is all that's needed for both reader and hub
