Case fan setup - need help ( 1 Views )
-
Alright, I'm building my first from-scratch system, and my case fans have three sockets each - to big ones with four holes, and one small three holed socket.
My question is: do I only need to connect to the fan headers on the MOBO with the little three-hole?
Should I also connect to the four holed peripheral power sockets coming from the PSU?
Thx!

Well. earlier searches didn't help - but the latest yielded results. It seems that just plugging the fans into the MOBO is enough.

yes, it is an either/or connection not both... if you hook them into to your mobo you might be able to control the speed through software (that either comes with the mobo or can be downloaded) if you use the 4 pin molex they will run at full speed all the time (assuming it doesnt come with a fan controler
