Best way to ship my computer? ( 1 Views )

1. I will soon be PCSing to Alaska from New Mexico and although I would like to take my computer myself it would be impossable. So I'm wondering what the best way would be to ship my computer with out anything breaking. I'm thinking of just taking it apart and putting everything in its original box but that would be a pain in the ass. I was wondering if anyone else had an easier method of shipping a computer without ripping it apart. Thanks.

2. IMO, ship it in the original box that your case came in. since that will be the perfect size and hopefully have foam inserts. Take the harddrives out though and take them with you.
   
   Whats the make and model of your case?
   If I had to ship, I'd probably do what I just said, but I have a steel case.

   The box got completly destroyed on the last PCS move so I had to throw it away. Thats why I was asking because I no longer have that box and I dont want to have to worry about it. :(

4. If you still have the foam inserts then you could try to find a similar sized box, short of that I'm out of ideas.
