Do both SLI Cards need to be identical? ( 1 Views )

1. They have the be same brand same model # and everything??? or just a 7800gt reference design sort of deal?

   nope. clockspeeds can be different. i used a BFG 7800GT @425/1.05 and an evga 7800GT CO @470/1.2 together with no problems.

9. yup, the new drivers allow mixed vendor support and different clock speeds, they just need to be the same core GPU. The faster card would be downclocked to the slower card, but it would still work just fine.

    afaik, thats not true either. each card retains its clockspeeds individually.
