FS: Black Powerbook Titanium G4 500 ( 1 Views )

1. Powerbook Titanium
   G4 500 MHz (actually was a 400 that I OCed via resistor move, still totally stable)
   512meg RAM (single 512meg SODIMM)
   20gig HD
   15.2" widescreen display (1152x768 resolution)
   DVD drive
   non-Mac AC adapter
   Belkin PCMCIA 802.11b NIC (works with OSX!)
   battery is very weak and only goes for about 30min

   the entire laptop was taken apart and painted with black automotive paint with a clear coat. Unfortunately, the clear coat has cracked in several places. It still looks very cool.
   
   There is a real crack directly above the DVD drive slot (this is a common issue with these TiBooks, but it is only cosmetic). The only other issue is that the screen latch is broken so the lid doesn't close tightly.
   
   $425 shipped to the US.
   
   I have another 512meg SODIMM I can include for an extra $50.

4. Just curious in your opinion, does the clearcoat chip as you said because its a computer case you painted or because of it just being handled? Not trying to sound rude about it just curious as id like to get my laptop painted and wondering if its worth it?

   I think it was a mistake I made when painting it. It could have been that we didn't let the black dry enough before putting the clear coat on. It also could have been that we put plasticizing agent (I think that's what it's called- the stuff you put into paint for bumpers and such) in the clear coat and maybe we shouldn't have. Plus, the plasticizing agent was a little old.
   
   I'm 100% sure it doesn't have anything to do with frequent handling because I painted this case at the same time and it also developed some cracks in the clear.

11. wut os is on there? can it have itunes and firefox running at the same time without lag? im thinking about taking it off yor hands, but i have to sell my desktop first.
