Delivering Ebook by attachment or download page ( 3 Views )

no kitty!
  1. I sell ebooks and booklets in pdf format. I recently set up a shopping cart system with Mals e-commerce site and have tried to get some help from them for troubleshooting set up a challenge. So far, no one seems to be able to help.

When a customer is done paying in my cart they are sent to a Thank you page. That works great but I want something even more specific.

What I want: To be able to deliver my pdf documents to my customer automatically after they pay. I want them to be taken directly to a page that will either send the pdf as an attachment to them. If Mals offered an option where I could create multiple thank you pages, one for each product to be delivered that would be great, but they don't give that option.

I realize that having a separate auto responder that connects to each product is probably one answer. I set up a free account with getrepsonse but can't see how I can connect that to the cart and from what I've tested I have to have a separate autoresponder account for each pdf I want to deliver.

The people at Mal's told me I could use their downloadable data base options. My understanding is that I have to put in a link in that database to take the person to the download page for that particular pdf, and then I have to put in a special coding into the shopping cart for that product. But after trying it and putting in what I thought was the right coding, I never got anything else to happen. I still get the Thank you page and the new url is showing but you can't click on it.

Is there anyone who has set up auto delivery of pdfs via a shopping cart? I am using PayQuake as my credit card Gateway so suggesting that I use clickbank or paypal is not the solution. Has anyone used Mal's in this way?

I'm going to also try contacting Mal himself to see if he will respond with a solution.

  2. I dont have specific experience with Mal's shopping cart, but the following should apply to most programs.
Can you make your thank you page a php script instead of a static page?
Then you can instruct PayQuake to return to your php script after payment, appending the item ID to the page URL so that your fulfillment page can figure out which file to send.
If you do this, be very careful about security. You don't want just anyone to connect to your thank you page and download your stuff.
