I read that there will be an option in php.ini to have PHPs internal functions throw exceptions. Is this happening and if so, will the INI directive be accessible with ini_set()?

    Zeev:

It's still undecided. Chances are that it won't be supported at the language level. Instead, what you could do is use set_error_handler() and throw exceptions inside your own custom error handler

Guilty as charged. Shortly after posting it realised it was a stupid question but c'est la vie. Think I'd swap is for a question about Safe mode if I could go back in time.
