Special Forces guns own regular BF2 guns? ( 7 Views )

1. After playing for a while I feel that the new guns with SF are way better than the regular BF2 guns. I dont own the expansion because it sux, I played it at my friends house and its not that great, the original is better IMO. I play regular BF2 servers and now they have SF guns on regular BF2 servers wtf? Im being killed constantly with SCAR-L or G36K or C or E or F2000, and all this is on the normal maps. I dont have any SF unlocks, im a Gunnery Sergeant and its taking a while to the next rank. I think that the SF guns are better in terms of accuracy and power. SF unlocks are better thats why everyone is getting the SF ubnlocks rather than regular BF2 unlocks, ever compare the G36E to M16? I have to play with the AK if I am MEC or China just to keep up with my score. I noticed im getting killed almost exclusively by SF guns now, and that people with standard guns hardly ever get me. Sometimes there's a guy with his back turned on me, I prone, take three bursts at him, and he just turns around bunny hops like a rabbit on acid and kills me the first shot. After a while it gets frustrating. Whats your take on this? do you think its balanced? Why is EA mixing expansion with original on regular maps, this puts other players at a disadvantage.

2. The SF guns aren't overwhelming or anything. Their attributes are differently "balanced." I for one dislike the F2000's aiming scope. I prefer the original unlock for specop. The G36E is nice but so are the stock AKs.
   
   The reason you're getting killed with them is because everyone wants to use the new guns.

3. they're not unbalanced
   
   what I really enjoy is the unguided rpg the insurgents get on the antitank loadout.
   
   reminds me of the glory days of playing nva/vc in battlefield vietnam. :)

4. no the guns are not better. people with more time than me have gone through the game files and jotted down all the pertinent stats. The SCAR-L has a nicer sight than the G36c, but the old unlock is still considerably more accurate. Similar story with the F2000...the sight is nice, but the AK-101 is the better gun. The MG36 is more accurate than the PKM, but does far less damage and dosent have a high enough rate of fire to make up for it. The MP7 is nice in that engineers have a longer range weapon to use, but the small magazine capacity and low damage mean its not popular. The medic gun G36e is much better in a close range firefight, but the L85 still gives a medic almost sniper-like firepower.
   
   Ironically, the only two original unlocks where the new ones are viable alternatives, the G3 and the L85, are getting upgraded in the next patch 1.2
   
   
   The only new gun I like using is the SCAR-H, and its only because I prefer that red dot sight to the iron sights on the G3 and AK, but I realize its an inferior weapon, especially when you go prone.

   The guns aren't unbalanced. The SCAR-L and F2000 both have scopes which make them very appealing, however they both are less accurate than the G36C and M16 respectively. The G36E is basically like comparing the M16 to the AK74/47.

7. like someone said people are trying those out because they're all new. personally i think nothing beats G36c this is one badass gun accurate and destructive. nade launcher in F2000 is more powerful i think than regular gun in BF2 or i might just have more luck with it than i have with the old one.

   I'm bashing the fact that EA does this kind of thing all the time.
   A game has problems, rather than fix the problems, they introduce something new, get's your mind off the fact that there are problems becasue you have something new to play with.

   Heh.......yea. That ended up doing me in as far as bf2 goes. I dont know how many more EA products I'll be buying in future other than sports titles.

    All the GLs are exactly the same. The bullet damage from the rifles varies a bit.

11. They ARE working on the bugs. In an interview, one of the developers was trying to find out the specific cause of the red name bug. He asks the community to try and replicate the conditions of the server, game, etc that produces that bug in order to correct it.

12. Having most of the guns unlocked I'd disagree.
    
    The SF guns are not unbalanced, though I do tend to favor them. They are different.
    
    I don't think the SCAR-L is as good as the G36.
    
    The F2000's gun isn't great, but it's the only assault unlock with the GL. AK101 is probably better, but that's only if your MEC. That being said, I use it all the time. I like having the same weapon so I can get used to it.

13. man, i hardly play BF2 vanialla anymore...im always on SF, im totally addicted to the map Warlord...its like karkland on crack AND meth! its awesome...i dont know why i love it so much but i do...
    
    that said...i have tried some of the SF weapons in BF2, but not alot....though i do like the flash bangs, and tear gas, since those without SF cant even use a gas mask to avoid it :)
    
    im not goin to comment on accuracy and whatnot with SF, but i like the assult weapon...f2000 is it? and i like the engineers sub machine gun....i tend to play engineer more cuz of that gun...u can kinda snipe with it from a distance, unlike the shotguns...
