Half life 2 on both pcs? ( 2 Views )

1. I was wondering can i install half life 2 on both pcs in my house? This way i could play against my son? And if i can do i need to create a new profile? How does this work?

2. You will need two copies of the game and 2 accounts. Obviously Steam accounts are free, and you can register purchased games to the account you make. Hope that helps ;)

3. TBH you can install any steam game on every pc in there world......but only one person may be logged in at a time, per account :p, i picked hl2 up on the egg for $35 10months ago so its not like end of the world cash your loseing

4. Yes, you can put it on both PCs. But don't think that you can play Counter-Strike from both PCs at the same time. You can play HL2 single player at the same time.
   
   Whenever I go to a friends and want to play Counter-Strike or whatever other game I have unlocked, I just sign my friend out and then I log in and it is available to me. So if he didn't buy DoD:S, then I can just log in and play because it is an account, not like your traditional install only games.
   
   Just don't try to play online from both PCs at the same time. I think you get banned or something for doing that. And be sure to sign out from a friends PC, or they will just let steam auto-load on boot up and be playing under your name without you knowing it.

5. Can you plan lan games together without needing two steam accounts and two copies of the game? No internet gaming, only local LAN? I remember that Half-Life allowed 5 people to play on a LAN with the same CD key.

   dunno......mabey you can try to force offline mode on one pc, ive only had 2person lan at my house and that was 2 seperate accounts(btw i whuped his ass all over dust)
   
   i have had 12people halo/2 lan though :) here, and at my old school.....i owned everyone at my school it was sad
