Bad things goin on with my 6600gt ( 2 Views )

no kitty!
  1. Alright so two days ago some workers came by the house to fix our carpet and i left the computer on. An hour later i come back to my computer and my monitor is in sleep but my computer is still on. I restart the computer to the windows boot logo where i see little artifacts and after the logo my computer jumps straight into sleep mode again. So i notice my case has been moved around becuase the feet are all over the place and i can tell the imprints of the feet on the carpet.

    I take out my video card and reseat and everything and pop it back in, no go. I reset my cmos, check my cables, ram stick and nothing. Then as my last resort i reset the cmos again and my computer starts up but freezes again after the boot logo. So i thought maybe my drivers went nuts so i repair my xp and during the finalizing installation i get a quick green lined screen for about a second and back into sleep mode. I dont have anything else to try and ive got a zalman on here and a hacked up stock evga heatsink where i ripped off the doom3 plate. Will they accept my rma with the plate missing or is there anything else i can try?

  2. Sounds like they possibly knocked over your tower and all the weight on the zalman could have done damage to your GPU. Try removing the Zalman and reinstalling it. Make sure everything is tight and snug. If that fails it looks like you may be covered as their warranty seems to have limited coverage for modding where most companies dont at all. here is their warranty;
