Why, WHY didn't I think of trying a combo oh, an hour ago when I ordered a 3000+ 939 to build for my parents? (they wished for a new computer, I gave them something that will fill their needs for a couple of years, no gaming at all, so int. video...).

THis is what I was looking for. I can find it on AMD's site that it actually exists, but I've been to egg, zzf, monarch etc. etc. and I can't find them. If you yahoo it it brings up amd's site and a some reviews but no retailers. Am i doing somethingwrong. I want one of these........................................
Help me out Eclipse. Where do you find these?
ALso get a lot of stuff about Newark New Jersey.
(metehan, Dominica)
don't know of any stores with em in stock, but i might be able to hook you up with someone who can get you one

Eclipse.........how much would we be talking for one of these??
(Hakan , Greenland)
(melike, Somalia)
This is where I get confused.
I see Mobile Athlon 64, Athlon 64 DTR. and Turion 64...................which one of these is a "Newark 4000+" that has a chance of working with my motherboard and a TDX waterblock?
And thanks for all the help so far.
edit....ah, i see it now...........got confused by the Turions popping up......
OK.....I got the wife talked into something in that 300-350 range for christmas......will you be able to set something up in 2 - 3 weeks you think or is this a day to day thing?
Think that chip will do 3.0?
(burcu, Niger)
there is no 4000+ DTR, so it has to be the mobile ;)
also, i don't know how good mobile support is in the epox's.. i think i remember them not working well together.

I was afraid you might say that. Maybe just best to stick with the 3700+ claw and and be happy with 2.6 - 2.7.....................Riding that till about a year into M2 is the plan.
(duygu, Fiji)
that's probably the best plan, esp with how cheap the 3700+ can be had
(BÜŞRA, Armenia)
Thanks for your valued opinion. :)
(demet, Canada)
Definately the 2600+ there is no comparison
(onur, Bolivia)
Eclipse...........
Saw a DTR 3700+ on FS/FT for $135.
I look it up on AMD and it is exactly the same voltage and speed only it seems that desktop has "cool & quiet" and DTR has "powernow technology".
By the time I decide to take a chance and pm the guy it's sold.
So now I hve the chance to ask, would an A64 DTR be MORE likely to be compatible than a Mobile A64.
To me the DTR specs exactly like a Clawhammer except with Powernow and no heatspreader. I'd just like to know incase anybody else puts one in the FS/FT for $135.
Thanks
(Cihan, Ecuador)
sadly, i don't know for sure.. you can always buy it, and if it doesn't work, just sell it again and make back what you spent :p
(güzide, Australia)
In your opinion, not going to hold you to anything, would a DTR be more likely than a mobile to work?

Yeah that was me that got it. I just am looking for instructions on a modified I.C.E for the shuttle sn85g v2 I plan on sticking this in. I got lucky that I was online for this. Good luck finding one.
(Galip, Guinea)
What does DTR stand for? I am interested in this 4000+ chip too... I thought the highest s754 was the 3700+ Claw. :)

Venice 3000+ with a DFI mobo. I'm getting 258x10 out of my Venice 3000+ on an Asus K8N4-E Deluxe mobo but I'm limited to 1.55v in bios. I know of another guy with my same cpu/mobo setup getting 265x10 and I've seen 2.8 ghz on 1.6v. There are also 3200+ and 3400+ s754 Venice cpu's in the works and should be out soon.
(oğuz, Cook Islands)
Well, I just ordered a Sempron 2800+.
(yusuf, Jamaica)
Semprons oc very well, just a little too light on the L2 cache for my taste. Let us know what your results are when you've got it set up. You should see some good results.

Thanks, I been looking for a nice lower price w/o any MIR.

Id take a 4000+ newark from newegg in a heartbeat..
2.6 stock and oc's like mad.. Equivalent of a san diego without a dc memory controller.

i have been to 3 of their B+M stores in orlando... never ordered from them online.. but they probably would be fine to order from.. my aunt has them build all the systems for her business..
(eren, Aruba)
If that is the same group from here in Orlando then they are ok. I know a few friends who have ordered from them and they have no complaints.
That's a great price on an oem 3700+. I don't know whether you all know this or not but AMD has made a big push among their retailers not to sell oem cpu's anymore. So get this one at that price right now! There aren't many left out there. Check Newegg, Zipzoomfly and Tigerdirect. The oem cpu supply is dwindling fast.
If you have a good oc mobo I'd recommend the s754 3000+ Venice. I have both the 3700+ Clawhammer and the 3000+ Venice. The Venice runs about 10 degrees C cooler at idle and load and will oc just as fast as the 3700+. My 3700+ will go to 2.6 (216x12) @ 1.65v and the Venice will go to 258x10 @ 1.55v and would go higher if I could give it some more vcore but my mobo maxes out at 1.55v. The Clawhammer is 130nm architecture and the Venice is 90nm. The Clawhammer's stock vcore is 1.5v and the Venice is 1.4v. The Venice is $119.00 today only at Newegg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103606
(emre, Cape Verde)
just remember, YMMV on the clawhammer. i got a dinky one that will barely do over 2.5.
hehe.
id go for the newark in a heart beat.

OT : You sure that's not 258*9? 3000+ -> 200*9 = 1.8Ghz at stock.

.
I get this question a lot because people get the s939 and s754 300+ Venice cpu specs confused.
The s939 is rated at 1.8 ghz with a multi of 9x.
The s754 is rated at 2.0 ghz with a multi of 10x.

Thanks guys. I just got it today and running it at stock. These guys are QUICK! Seems like my old Newcastle 3000 was bottlenecking my PNY 6800. I might OC but I'm a noobie at that. Is it even worth changing my MB from a K8v-SE Deluxe to the DFI Lanparty Nforce3 250gb? I heard that the 6800, DFI and punkbuster do not like each other.

Who in the holy hell told you that?
I've had zero problems with punkbuster that was related to a 6800 or a DFI nf3 250gb mobo. Your sources are full of it. :)
PB games that work like a charm with my 6800(gt), dfi nf3 250gb:
SoF2
BF2
Quake3
Doom3
Quake4
BF:1942
BF:V
Farcry
RTCW
RTCW:ET
Hint: PB problems are not hardware related, its PEBCAK or server admins who cannot config their files properly. ;)
Keeping on topic: I just picked up a 3400NC from monarch for $121 shipped. Its running great in my widdle shuttle.
