DFI UT N4 SLI-DR Help ( 3 Views )

no kitty!
  1. Ok, I have this new board (listed in title) and AMD 3800+. For some reason this machine wont POST with my RAM.

    I am using Corsair XMS (PC3200) 4x 512 = 2GB of RAM.

The board says that it supports 2GB's and PC3200 DDR RAM so I don't know why if I load all 4 DIMM's with RAM, I get no POST. The machine powers on but the monitor sits in stand-by with an amber light rather than a green light. I have only had success by adding in 1 DIMM of 512MB's in DIMM2 slot. I have used each piece once in DIMM2 to make sure none of the RAM is bad and they all work but when I add more than once piece, no boot screen and or POST. If I add that same piece from DIMM 2 in DIMM1, no boot.

Can someone please help me. I atleast want to be able to use 1 GB of my RAM and it seems this board is not happy and I need to find out why. I have reverted back the BIOS settings to fail-safe so nothing should be out of the ordinary.

    Thanks

  2. Do U have all four cables connected? What voltage are U giving your CPU and your Memory? Are U on AUTO settings? Do U have cpc disabled?

Also a spec on your hardware please (incl. PSU)

or simply goto: www.dfi-street.com start by creating a sig w. all Hardware in it and then read rules and stickies after that goto oc forum and readup on memory settings and timing.

  3. What four cables connected? I am noy over clocking or doing anything crazy. All the voltage is what it shoud be I guess since I have not made any changes to anything. I restored BIOS fail safe defaults and just plugged everything in and fired the system on. I have no idea what CPC is.

    System Specs

    Antec 550 PS
    Antec Case
    AMD 64 3800+
DFI Lan Party UT N4 SLI-DR
    Nvidia 7800GTX
    Corsair XMS DDR (PC3200) x4
    WD 120GB S-ATA
TDK 840G Dual Format DVD Burner

  4. Ok I think its DFI-street time 4 U... the four cables (the 24pin the 4pin the Molex and the floppy) should all be conected to the MoBo for stability purpose not for overclocking or crazyness. Then U need to go into the BIOS and up the RAM Voltage to 2.7V and the CPU special to 110% also disabe QnC, cpc and the DFI splashscren.

  5. Ok, Yes - all 4 cables have been connected. I connected the motherboard cable - the 4 pin power cable that is normally used for Pentium 4's, the strange molex connector by the card and the floppy connected by the PCI-E.

Let me check with the BIOS settings as you indicated.

    Thanks!
