Call of Duty 2 >> Anti-ATi ( 2 Views )

1. I tried running the CoD2 demo with my new X800GT. The problem is right when the game loads my computer locks up with a blue screen. I have to run it in safe mode to play the game. What setting is causing my system to crash? Would it be memory based or my video card? My specs:
   
   AMD 3000+
   MSI K8N Neo3 S754
   HIS X800GT 128MB DDR3 (Catalyst 5.9)
   1Gig Cosair PC3200 RAM
   
   And another thing: the ATi control panel says I have 128MB of DDR1 memory, when RivaTuner tells me it's 128MB of DDR3! So which one is telling the truth?!

2. Did you do a clean install with the drivers? Fast writes off?

3. Man that is the second issue I have seen with the CATs recently. Though not exactly the CATs fault, I wish the drivers were easier to load and replace.
   
   I am currently using the NGO Drivers from Guru3d. Very good. Very easy to install and get working exceptionally well.

4. cod2 demo runs pretty well on my sytem, 1280x1024 everyhing maxed out at 4xaa

6. runs fine for me, but I have a 9600XT and older drivers I think.
   
   edit: plus I have it at lower settings. 800*600, 2AA

7. If you check the games forum, GTX users are having a bigger problem. I don't see how this is Anti-ATi?

8. try turning off the zfeather/smoke setting something or other.

9. It might be a driver issue.
   
   After every game comes out, you get new drivers that better support that game.

12. The developers try to test as much as possible, but there is just no way to test for every possible OS/hardware/driver combo out there. Both ATi and NV will be testing and working their drivers to try and correct any issues they can reproduce by the time the game comes out.

13. The only problemI've run into is some fps in the 20's when I use some smoke grenades and there's a lot fo enemies shooting :D The game looks excellent although character models could be better.
    Don't sweat over demo issues, it's a freakin' DEMO! Look at Far Cry's demo(s) before the actual game was released...

    Some are. Some are getting really bad frame rates. Even with SLi. I'm pretty sure it's driver issue for people right now

17. Since the game is coming out for the XBOX too, ATI is the card of choice, so this has nothing to do with CoD hating ATI card.
