3. You shouldn't have any problem finding a great socket A board for under $100. :D nForce2 Ultra 400 is the only choice as far as I'm concerned for any power user. If it's for your parents or grandmother than a Via would be fine. ;)

   An Asus, Abit or a Gigabyte would all be fine. Just choose the motherboard from the manufacturer of your choice with the options that your looking for. Here's a good example: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...InnerManu=1314 I personally like Gigabyte boards and they make three nForce2 Ultra 400 boards in three distinct price ranges and options. I choose the GA-7N400L since I'm also getting a new mobile Athlon to play with and I don't see me needing the higher end options for what I'm going to be doing with it. Why pay for stuff you'll never use? I'll probably be tired and move up to an Athlon 64 system anyway this Winter and give this system to my kids.
