NF7-M not booting at all. ( 2 Views )

1. i ran a test on this new computer that i'm building for a customer and it was just booting it with no drives as i didnt have them.. booted fine, and i could setup the bios fine... now after i installed the drives, it doesn not boot at all. no beep, fans dont spin, nothing.. i'm thinking that its a grounding issue or i set a start passowrd on the bios and i dont remember it lol. but i'm taking advise on it right now... as i dont want to take it all out of the case if it isnt nessecary, it does have power, as the led on the board lights up

2. can someone report this thread so it goes to the correct forum...
   
   also, i took the mobo out of the case... it still didnt boot, and tried with a combo of things (diff PSU and power switch...) it seems that the board boots fine when the PSU is outside of the case, and then it boots once then shuts off and doesnt boot again when reinstalled. how could the PSU have grounding issues?
   
   i think im just going to but some duct tape on the spots where the PSU contacts the case... even though its supposed to be aluminum

3. I know this may seem kind of stupid but make sure the power button is still plugged all the way into the mobo and in the right place you also might want to try resetting the CMOS it seems I have had this problem before a couple times, usually the power button connector fell out but on one occasion the power supply had just given out, luckily it was a newegg product and was replaced free of charge. :-) hope that helps.

   i dont how, but it works now... it just... i dont know... it works
   i guess somehow the PSU got grounded somewhere it shoudnt have..
