Sony PSP not reading UMDs ( 1 Views )

1. My PSP suddenly stopped reading UMDs. One day I turned it on, put a game in and it didn't even pick up that there was a game inside.
   
   When I put a UMD in, the PSP gives off that low hum you here when its loading from a UMD, but instead of booting up after that it just continues to make that noise and not load up the game.
   
   I've tried different games, movies, cleaning the sensor and even fiddling around inside to see if there are any loose parts.
   
   Does anybody know what could be causing this? I think the warranty on it has expired so I would prefer to try fix it without sending it in to Sony.

2. mine did that before, and NOT KIDDING i smacked it a few times while umd was in and it started working again...lol
   i tapped it on the umd area...i guess the motor

4. mod it then download all your games/movies to 4gig card :) mine stopped working a few months ago.
