Speedfan is broken. Try Coretemp 0.95.4 (I think that's the latest version). IT is impossible to have below ambient temps with air cooling.

  3. OC'd at 3.240Ghz, Core 1/2 = 33/34, Core 3/4 = 25/27. Overall CPU sensor: 27 deg. Read from CoreTemp & Everest. All temps above @ idle. usually pops up 15-20 deg on load.

  4. I have a tuniq tower, and my temps are something like 38/38/33/33

how are u guys getting lower then that!

    i have a CM690case too

Yeah it's hard to believe unless they are WC or some other type of cooling besides air. I run 50C on my Tuniq so your chips will vary

  6. im getting 33C full load at stock speed

  7. G0 @ 3.6gz watercooled with triple and double rad. All cores mid/high 20's idle and mid/high 40's at very high load. Once I went watercooling, Im never going back to air.

  8. This processor can go higher than the manuf. temp max of 71. Here's my Q6600 with 2 of the cores at 78C. I ran these temps for more than 4 hours on a stress test of Prime 95.

  9. How do you run more than one instance of Prime95?

I tried because I would like to run Prime95 on all cores at the same time. I could see the application opened but it would go away.

The newest version of Prime95 should automatically detect the amount of cores and run threads on all of them.
Also use Core temp 0.96 instead of speedfan..

I have a scythe mine and it is lapped, lapped processor as well, MX-2 thermal paste and my idle temps are @ 3.7 Ghz are 39C where as my load temps @ 3.7 Ghz are 64C.

  11. Are you actually using Prime95 for those load temps now, or are you still using SMP Folding?

What are you using for cooling? What's your ambient temp?

  14. Here's prime stable >24hours later...

Air cooling no less, the Q6600 is a great overclocker. Give it good air flow or a good cooler and it'll be fine.

  15. I'm not trying to hijack your thread but in cpuz my Q6600 reads as a E6600 for the name but says Q6600 in the specification?

    33c
    34c
    31c
    33c

thats what my core temps read idle with stock heatsink and fan....is that about normal?
    (not overclocking yet)
