Mapping an IP print device (LPR port) with a script ( 1 Views )

no kitty!
  1. A print device is a piece of "General Hardware" isn't it? :p

We got a few new printers, and my manager has stuck me with the task of installing them (there are two of the same model) on all of our users' computers.

I am trying to find a script that will allow me to set all the parameters and run it on users' computers (or remotely) so that I can expedite this process.

They are IP based printers and new drivers need to be installed.

Has anyone had any experience with this or could anyone point me in the right direction?

I found one script that I'm going to investigate here:

    Thanks for any assistance!

  2. Are these Windows PC's? Part of a domain? You need to give some more details on how these PC's are setup for us to help you out.

Sorry, here is some more detail:
    Windows XP workstations
Part of a Windows Server 2003 domain
    Printers are IKON CPP 650
Printers use a static IP address

If there is any other information that would be needed, please let me know. Thanks for the help!
