What drivers are you using? (3850) ( 1 Views )

1. Not sure what drivers to use. I always assume that I get the newest ones from ATI when I upgrade.
   
   I have the new GeCube 3850 and the version of the drivers on their site is 8.43 but ATI is at 7.11. Not sure what drivers to use.
   
   Should I just use the GeCube ones?

2. well im using 7.11 on my 3870 and they been working fine for me,been playing GOW and COD 4 without any problems.

   the "8.xx" number refers to the driver packaging version, and it's not uncommon to see a lot of packaging versions within the same Catalyst number, which is what the 7.xx refers to.
   
   My "Crysis Hotfix" 7.11 drivers show:
   
   Driver Packaging Version 8.43.1.1-071115a-055589E-ATI
   Catalyst® Version 07.11
   
   The WHQL 7.11 drivers will show something different (though likely still starting with 8.4) in the packaging version, but still show as 7.11 Catalyst version.
   
   
   Open up CCC (assuming you've installed the cards and one of the drivers), go to the Information Center/Graphics Software in Advanced mode, that'll show all your version numbers.
