adsense closure ( 3 Views )

no kitty!
  1. Anyone here get >U$1,000 / month from adsense and still running ?

In last few months, 3 of my sites have been closed for invalid clicks.
I noticed a very disturbing trends
    - whenever it started earning U$1,000.00 / month, within 2/3 months
google will disable my accounts for invalid click reason
    - they will give no warning whatsoever
    - they won't let you know the offending ip.
they will ask you to search through your logs to find it yourself

is it just me / anyone else experience this kind of thing ?

    (inci, Monaco)

  2. Wow that really does suck, about the same thing happened to me:-( That better not happen to http://freeimageupload.com or I would have to shut down.

    (ferhat, Romania)

  3. Google Shut Down my AdSense Account 2 Days before the end of the Month (August 30, 2004). I was given no warning just told that they detected invalid clicks and had to protect their Advertisers. So we're out 2 months of Google Income which really blows.

Our Web Site was making about $550 US per month.

Very disappointing and all attempts to get Goolge to reopen the account have failed... oh well.

  4. fraud

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think Google is able to detect fraud by checking the user's cookies, ip address, and so on to determine if it is a unique user. As I understand it, if one user clicks on your ads many times, there is no charge to the Google Adwords account.

  5. What kinds of site were booted? I bet that's more telling than anything.

    (selen, Estonia)

  6. How does Google make money by kicking a [legitimate] site out of AdSense? You do realize that the money they pay publishers is just part of the money they get paid to place those ads on your site, right? And that without the places to place ads, there would be no money for Google to be paying you?

I am pretty sure, google will bugger his website out of adsense.
google won't care who click who, they made money by kicking you out of adsense.

    Got it !

  9. Ask Google. Nobody here would be able to tell you.

    (murat, Tonga)

  10. @Dan Grossman is right they cannot just kick you out to make money. they need us webmasters as much as we nid them. Im sure they have valid reason for this action. Try to email them nicely.

    (CANİ, Viet Nam)

  11. I've tried everything to get themto reinstate our Account. They simply state that they cannot reveal any details because of the nature of their Algorithm.

    Example response:

As previously explained, due to the proprietary nature of our algorithm, we cannot disclose any details about how our monitoring technology works or what specifics we found on your account. However, we can assure you that we have again reviewed your account thoroughly and accurately, and have confirmed that your account violated our program's Terms and Conditions.

As such, we are unable to reinstate your account.

    Sincerely,

    The Google Team

  12. No problems with Adsense here either.

    (bsk, Timor-Leste)

  13. Well I don't know how well any other ad network would do on a free image host. Every single other free image host has Google ads and that is how they stay open.

Also, I did notice that one of the top referrer URLs was crawl24.googlebot.com and I had never seen that in there before.

  14. Let it go

having been in the same position my best advice is to "let it go". Change your start up page to yahoo (I am sure it is google !), moan about them for a few days, then quickly get a different contextual advertiser. Luckily I am in the travel sector so my choice of other contextuals are probably higher but give a few a go. I am now (2-3 months later) doing BETTER than I was with G.

    There is life after G

Look at the logs of both sites, look for patterns, urls that repeat themselves, weired robots, anything that looks out of the ordinary.

Check with google if they'll aacept you back once you fix the problems.

  19. Yeah, I had the same problem. I was also making the extra x a month, and at the end of the month they canceled my account and refused to give a reason why. It's marginally legal, if you ask me. They really should provide a reasonable reason as to why they cancled the account or pay what is owed up until the day the account was canceled.

  20. So does this mean that if I want somebody's site to die(potentially), I can literally click their ads thousands of times and then get them kicked out of adwords making them stuck to pay for server costs without adwords at all? :xeye:

  21. Searchfeed makes a nice quick solution. Use the dynamic feed generator to make your own text ad boxes.

  24. I make $xxxx on just adsense a month and was closed once because I had too many popups. I took them down, and google reopened my account the next day.

    (gamze, Gabon)

  25. damn 4 G a month on adsense alone would be sweet!

    (aslan, Egypt)

  26. I know someone making more than $1000 a month from Adsense and not having any problems. In fact she makes at least 4 times that every month if not more.

    (salman, Iraq)

  27. Do you get paid for the money you made before they decided to close your account?

    (yudum, Poland)

  28. They do this all the time.

It doesn't matter if the fraud clicks were coming from you or your visitors, if you site is prone to fraud they close it to protect the advertisers.

(engin, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines)

  29. Personally, this is the first time I am hearing abour Google closing down accounts without prior notification. Let's see if more people have experienced this... Otherwise I am unlikely to belive this.

    (Leyla, Suriname)

  30. I've made $XXXX.XX for the last 2 months, no problems yet. Plan to achieve at least $XXXX.XX again this month. Might be slightly lower because of the new changes but still plan to hit it.

    (onur, Saint Lucia)

  31. I'm not to $xxxx a month yet but I've had a couple of issues in the past and found the Google reps reasonable to work with when I emailed them.

    (ayfer, Namibia)

  32. This exact thing happened to me and I have no idea what these "invalid clicks" are that they are talking about. Now I need to hurry up and find some money quick or I am in debt because I went all out on promotion with my new adsense success and I won't have anything to pay it with or my server=/

  35. I know it is off topic a bit but if anyone would like to discuss this, that would be great ..

I see a lot of you have several sites, 50 or so, if not more. Do you go for sites that will be popular and make money, or are you genuinly interested in the topics of all you sites?

If you run several forums, do you partake in them all on a regular basis, or let them go by themselves, to a certain degree?

How many hours would you spend on your sites in a day, for those of you with say, 20+ sites?

Thanks for your time, and sorry if I have gone off topic too much here.

    Regards.

    (Ahmet, China)

  36. No problems here.

    (Havva, Burkina Faso)

  37. I'm making way more than $1000/month and haven't experienced any problems...

    (aysgl, Poland)

  39. I've been trying my damndest to get to $xxxx a month, but I'm still at $yyyy. I'll get there some day.....some day...

The googlebot by itself shouldn't be referrer, I don't think. I never noticed the bot itself as a referrer.
