Dammit. I just got a G5 rev. 1 on the clearance rack at Wal-Mart for 30 bucks. (They had a couple left so if anyone wants me to swipe one for them let me know). It was the battlefield 2142 version but I figured I could re-paint it anyhow.

Anyone know what the difference in revisions are?

the only reason i didnt get an original g5 was because im too used to the 2 buttons on my mx510. thx OP, i think im gonna go looking for one tomorrow.

Same- 518 here, but I'd like the increased sensitivity now that I game at 1600x1200.

First off this is actually revision 3 and Logitech themselves call it the G5 SE or 2007 Edition. Also this mouses tild wheel actually feels a heck of a lot better then the original G5, you can use the tild function without messing up the center click and now with the second side button has one more button then the MX518. I owned both versions of the G5 and G7 and I have to say they did good with this one, its got a great rubber grip on the entire mouse that feels great. I could list the number of Logitech mice that have now passed thru my hands, but I'll leave it at that this is now a true successor to the MX518. Heck they even release a new and actually working Setpoint!!!

Donno, instructions call it rev 3, but I take it SE means second edition and 2007 edition is almost self explanatory.

They also got rid of the light in the weight trey, improved the laser tracking, apparently it didn't do well on some of the ratpads. The biggest complaint I have with it is the two thumb buttons don't feel as nice as they did on the 518 and 510.
