Database design question ( 6 Views )

no kitty!
  1. I am building a restaurant manager site that will allow users to input everything about it. For example:
name, description, attire, atmoshpere, payment, cuisine and so on...

My question is this; some of the restaurants can have multiple payments, cuisine, and attire. So what is the best way to format the database? I am thinking of just using another table for each and having a lookup table but with all these but it seems like will be very bloated and take forever to build an insert form. Are there another of way doing? Or perhaps a better way?

  2. It probabely depends how you design the input of the data.

For payments e.g. you have a select with dropdown menu offering cash, amex, visa, mastercard, others
then you could use enum in your database.

You also can define it just as a varchar and the user can fill out whatever he wants.
