The title says it all. I have to upgrade to Pro because of a network issue at my school, and I've had stability issues with Home for a while (off and on). Is Home less stable? I know that Pro has more features than Home...
(?elif?, Mayotte)
the only thing i know for sure between the 2 is that pro has better networking support.

No - pro is no more stable to the best of my knowledge...
on a side note - Is the network issue due to a domain, or them needing remote admin access to push updates to your comp?
(tülay, Greenland)
The network issue has to do with a security issue. Only certain PC's (by name) can access the network

this may be a last ditch effort, but could you remove the pc from the domain, delete the pc from AD and then rejoin the pc after the replication has occurred?
but this may be more trouble if it is several computers giving you problems.
(hakan , Lesotho)
If only certain PCs can access the network by name (and it has nothing to do with joining a domain), there shouldn't have been any need to switch from Home to Pro.
That being said, there isn't any difference in stability between the two. Most likely, by installing XP Pro (hopefully a fresh install) you removed the software that was causing an instability.

It's not intrinsically more stable, but you do have the Group Policy Editor, which allows you to do a lot of configuration to keep users from doing Bad Things which can lead to decreased stability.
