Lull in PC game releases ( 4 Views )

1. It seems that there has been a lull in the release of PC games as of late.
   
   Not sure if this the calm before the X-mas storm but it's a little depressing :(
   
   There really hasnt been too many releases as of late - none really worth mentioning that I can think of.

   I am really tired of playing BF2...
   
   You know what we could use? GTA San Andreas type of game with crysis engine and Multiplayer...

3. I dunno about you, but it seems like its been like that for the past couple years...I remember having a couple good games to buy each quater, it seems like its down to 3-4 games a year now, if that

4. Seems to me that the rising cost of game production, and the lengthening time it takes is showing its ugly side here. Personall,y I haven't had anything really compelling to play since...um...Half-Life 2.

5. I've enjoyed FEAR, Oblivion and Titan Quest so my gaming time has been pretty good.
   
   Totally agree with Hammerhead on costs being an issue, but I think its more a double edged sword. We expect more than ever before of everything in games; graphics, production, AI, physics etc - Of course that's gonna cost more and take longer to for them to put out the door.

6. Summer is also the slow season when it comes to game releases. Now that the holidays are on the horizon, we should start seeing more games coming soon. Personally i can't wait for Dark Messiah. As far as the PC is concerned, that's all i care about as far as games for the remainder of the year. :D

8. It has been a lull for the past few months now, but that's normal.
   
   Looking at the next 6 weeks, the lull is definitely over, my friend. I just upgraded my computer in anticipation of all the gaming goodness coming our way.

    Certainly it is a quiet period. The last game I bought was Prey - and that isn't a classic. Merely a decent shooter. The last gripping game was HL2 -Ep1. There has been little else out of note recently. On the occasions of slow/poor quality releases I tend to look back at games I've missed, recently I picked up Indigo Prophecy which is a good game.
