trouble with first sli build. ( 3 Views )

1. I just built my first sli system. Components are x2 3800, 2gigs of kingston ram, a8n32sli deluxe mobo, 2 evga 7900gt ko, and a pc power and cooling 610w sli psu. The proc and ram where from my old system. I did a fresh install of windows with sp2 and the latest chipset and video drivers from nvidia. My problem is only when running sli about 70 % of the time when I alt tab out to desktop when playing games my screen is a jumble of colors. I can still see the mouse cursor and I can hear my friends talking in ventrillo. I can move the mouse where the taskbar should beand click around until I git the tab and the game comes right back up fine. Accordong to the nvidia control panel my gpu temp is never above 50C under full load. Although it only shows 1 gpu and not both. I believe these cards are factory overclocked, could this be the problem. Any ideas you guys can give would be greatly appreciated.

2. do u have sli enabled? in the nvidia console and is the little card flipped on your mobo?
   Does the game itself have an issue with dual core?
   Do u have the sli bridge connected?
   does it only do this when u alt tab out of a game?
   
   well thats all i can think of im not to good with trouble shooting

3. Yes sli is enabled, the card is flipped on the mobo, the bridge is connected and it only does it playing games. Actually it only does it playing WoW now that I think about it. I'll do some poking around to see if there is a known issue there. Thanks

4. Provide us with the model numbers for those 7900 GTs. Some had "bad" RAM on them and
   Evga released new 7900 GT models to replace them.

6. possibly a patch for wow and sli?
   newer drivers?
   is there a setting in wow for sli?

7. I'm pretty sure there is a bug with SLI and alt-tabbing. I've gotten it a few times.

8. I read that setting AA to sli 8x in the control panel will fix this problem. And so far so good, but my performance in some parts of the game is down to 17 to 20fps with that setting. I may just have to use 1 card for WoW I guess
